Publishing a Puzzle¶
The publish window enables you to view, edit, export, and print puzzles while adding clues.
Key Features¶
Solution Display¶
Toggle visibility of puzzle answers using the Solution toolbar button. This allows you to view or hide the completed puzzle.
Printing¶
Click the Print toolbar button to access macOS's print system for creating physical copies of your puzzle.
Export Options¶
Crossword Studio offers three export formats:
- Image files - Export as PNG or PDF for inserting into documents
- Web publishing - Publish your puzzle online at crosswordstudio.app
- AcrossLite PUZ format - Export crosswords in the widely-used .puz format (crosswords only)
Drag and drop: You can also drag puzzles directly into: - Pages - Mail - TextEdit - Notes - Keynote - Microsoft Word
Grid Editing¶
Click the Edit button to activate the grid editor. This allows you to make manual changes to the puzzle grid:
- Add, remove, and block cells
- Change letters
- Adjust the overall layout
Customization Options¶
Click the Options toolbar button to open the customization panel where you can modify:
- Puzzle title
- Colors and fonts
- Other visual properties
Clue Management¶
Click the Clues button to launch the clue editor dialog.
Features: - Enter clues for each word - Import/export clues via CSV - Copy and paste support for transferring data between applications
Note: For automatically generated puzzles, you'll need to add clues before publishing or exporting your crossword.
